The beauty industry is a wonderful tapestry of different professions, personal styles and an ever changing list of needs and equipment from the spaces you’re working in. Not only do people need to book space to work, but they need spaces that are going to work for them! For the revamp of the ShearShare product, we had to address the space problem and find a way for it to seemlessly fit with the tools that these entrepreneurs we’re already using. We had to think about every salon and barbershop owner as an entrepreneur, but we also had to think about every beauty professional as one too. This made ShearShare a business tool as much as a booking tool.
We wanted to solve those two core problems; booking the right space and becoming a seamless part of their business, while also supporting ShearShare in launching some new features that they were stoked about. The biggest one was a Subscription model and the associated added value with each tier of subscription. We created some features that only made booking & managing your business easier with ShearShare as you moved up those subscription tiers.
The product project was also part of a full rebrand and redesign of their marketing site which gave us a ton of opportunities to collaborate between disciplines. The moments where brand, product and web crossed over ended up with the strongest concepts and flows and a bunch of work that was really fun to make.
